I wanted this painting to capture the magic of getting coffee (and some treats, of course!) at a vibey cafe with a girlfriend. I don’t know about you, but I am truly in my happy place when I’m sitting across from a friend sharing stories and laughter over delicious food. What is better? I hope I’ve captured some of that magic in the colour palette, starry frame and mixed patterns in this energising piece. I like to imagine that wherever this painting is hung, pleasant memories of friendship are evoked.

If you’re a serial looker on the bright side, hoper of big hopes, dreamer of big dreams, and believer that everything will work out as it should, I made this painting for you. This painting is a celebration of what being an optimist is - it’s a choice you make as an act of resilience. Far from being a denial of reality or pain, this gal has seen some of it and yet her gaze is fixed forwards. Onwards. Upwards. Outwards. Kindness is not weakness and believing in a world of possibilities is not foolishness. Disappointment and suffering do not get the final word. Long Live Optimism.
(I really really enjoy the palette on this one - I’ve been having a lot of fun with pinks and oranges together. The combination is energizing and playful but also bold. Kinda like the themes of this painting).
